Here’s to Ingvar and My Top 10 Favorite Vikings! Flossie Benton Rogers

Here’s to Ingvar and My Top 10 Favorite Vikings!
  1. Ragnor Lodbrok and wife Lagertha in the History Channel’s new show, Vikings. What a smokin’ hot couple! The actors are Travis Fimmel and Katheryn Winnick. Although fictionalized, the characters are based on historical people.
  2. Garrick Haardrad in the novel Fires of Winter by Johanna Lindsey, and his daughter Kristen in the fabulous sequel, Hearts Aflame.
  3. The vampire Eric, played by Alexander Skarsgard in the TV show True Blood.
  4. Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth in the 2011 movie of the same name.
  5. Guthrum the Dane, played by actor Michael York in the 1969 film Alfred the Great, especially the sexy blood bond scene.
  6. Wulfgar in The Wolf and the Dove by Kathleen Woodiwiss.
  7. Einar, played by Kirk Douglas in the 1958 movie, The Vikings. Yes, often times bad boys are much more interesting than good ones.
  8. Ancient Swedish king Hygelac, also a character in the epic poem Beowulf. Love the name Hygelac!
  9. Hagar the Horrible, proving there’s a little Viking in all husbands.
  10. Ingvar Hrothson from my Secret Cravings paranormal romance Wytchfae – Runes. Yes, I’m madly in love with Ingvar. He rages, fights, and loves, and also takes pleasure in chocklot puffs and Irish whiskey when the occasion calls for it.

Where I Work - Marie Rose Dufour

Hi all,
My name is Marie Rose Dufour and I’m honored to be the first person to share their writing space. Well, this is my office. I love writing in here. The walls are a bright, sunny color, which always helps my mood, especially during the long winter months. Usually, it’s much messier than this. I write everything out on paper before I type it into the computer. So usually, the desk is covered with piles and piles of yellow legal paper. I’m actually shock I was able to get a picture without one of the cats in it. They always seem to be posing when a camera is around. LOL!

My husband’s an artist, so you can see his newest piece sitting on the corner of the desk. He’s going through a werewolf stage, which gives me ideas for shifter stories. Always too many story ideas and not enough time to write about them.

Writing has always been part of my life. As the oldest of four, I would write stories and plays to amuse my younger siblings. At the age of thirteen, I was published in the school paper. It was a narrative about a talking squirrel. In high school, I graduated into writing "fan fiction" where my favorite movie stars were the stars. I would read them to my friends at lunch. I was never seen without a notebook in my hand for my writing.

I always am thinking up stories in my head, so it was a natural progression to start putting them on paper. My dream of becoming a published author came true with the publication of my first novella Fated Mates by Secret Cravings Publishing in September of 2011!

I live in Rhode Island with my wonderful husband, who the minute he walked through the door of Friendly's Ice Cream, I knew I would marry him. We share our little house with two crazy cats who think they share their house with us!

Here are the places you can find me:

Next week Carolyn Gibbs will be sharing her writing space.
